Special colors allow you to visualize your positive and negative values clearly and professionally. These colors are defined at the theme level. Your smart slides will automatically pull the special colors you've selected automatically, so you don't have to manually adjust it. Templates such as charts, tables, big number, and check list all pull from the special colors.
Setting Special Colors
- Click on 'Theme' in the top left corner from within the editor
- Click on 'Edit Theme'
- Select the 'Colors' tab on the left hand side in the theme editor
- Navigate to 'Special Colors'
- By default, special colors are set to green and red for positive and negative values respectively. You are not limited to these colors and can customize them by clicking on the color circles and moving the color selector or adding the hex code.
- If you have set custom colors, click 'Update Presentation Theme' to save

If I change the special colors after creating several charts and tables, will the existing slides automatically update to the new colors across the entire slope of the presentation, or do I need to refresh or reinsert them for the changes to take effect?

This explanation is really helpful, especially for users who want consistent branding and visual clarity across their presentations without relying on default themes. One thing I’ve noticed while working with custom color-heavy layouts is that older systems or limited GPUs can sometimes cause lag or preview issues inside editors. In those cases, it’s useful to first verify whether performance slowdowns are design-related or system-related by checking! . We often highlight this at BottleneckCheck because smoother UI workflows start with understanding hardware limits before optimizing visual elements.
