Managing Your Brand Kits

Now that your brand kit is saved, it's worth understanding what you can do with it from the Shared Brand Kits page going forward, and how the default brand kit quietly shapes your team's experience.

Hover over any brand kit on the Shared Brand Kits page and you'll see a small 3-dot menu in the top-right corner of its thumbnail. Clicking it opens a menu with these options:

• Edit Brand Kit...-opens the brand kit editor for that brand kit (the same editor you just used).
• Rename-change the brand kit's display name without re-opening the editor.
• Duplicate-create an editable copy of the brand kit (handy if you want to start a new brand kit using this one as a base, or if you want a safe copy to experiment on).
• Hide / Show-toggle whether the brand kit is visible to team members. Hidden brand kits still exist and admins can still see them, but team members won't see them as an option when starting new decks.
• Delete...-permanently remove the brand kit.

Your default brand kit is special. The first brand kit in your Shared Brand Kits list is always your default brand kit, and its 3-dot menu is shorter: only Edit Brand Kit..., Rename, and Duplicate. You can't hide or delete the default. This is intentional, because the default brand kit has cross-workspace responsibilities that mean it always needs to exist.

What does the default Brand Kit control?

The default brand kit does more than just sit at the top of the list. It quietly drives the look of several things across your workspace:

• Team Slides thumbnails. Every slide thumbnail you see in Team Slides is rendered in your default brand kit, regardless of which brand kit each slide actually belongs to. This keeps your slide library visually consistent and avoids the "wall of mismatched colors" effect that would otherwise happen with multiple brand kits in play.
• Admin editing of team slides. If you (as an admin) open a team slide to modify it directly, it opens in the default brand kit as the starting point.
• What your team sees in the slide library. When a team member opens the slide library to add a Team Slide to their deck, the thumbnails they see are also rendered in the default brand kit.

What this means for your team members: They never have to worry about brand kit-matching. The thumbnails in the slide library all show in your default brand kit, but the moment they pick a slide and pull it into their deck, Beautiful.ai automatically reformats it (colors, fonts, decoration) to match the brand kit of the deck they're working in. The default-brand kit thumbnails are just for consistent browsing — the actual slide adapts to wherever it lands.

To note: all of this default-brand kit thumbnail behavior only matters once your workspace has more than one brand kit. If you only have a single brand kit, every slide naturally renders in that brand kit by default and there's no thumbnail-vs-deck mismatch to think about.

Adding More Brand Kits

Most teams have one primary brand kit, but you're not capped at one. If your organization runs multiple brands, has a sub-brand or product line with its own visual identity, or needs a special "client-facing" versus "internal" look, build out additional brand kits here. Every new brand kit follows the exact same setup flow as the one you just completed.

To add more brand kits:

1. Click + NEW BRAND KIT in the top-right of the Shared Brand Kits page to start from scratch.
2. Or click the 3-dot menu on an existing brand kit and choose Duplicate to start from a copy (faster if your new brand kit shares most settings with an existing one).

When team members start a new deck, they'll be able to pick which brand kit to apply, so multiple brand kits give them flexibility without losing brand control.
