Image Slide

An image slide is important because it helps your audience to pay attention, understand, and remember the information you share with them. Use an image slide when you want to create visual interest in your presentation. Since people tend to connect with pictures, using unique images and wording will make a lasting impression. Creative, engaging visual content will help you make the impact you want with your audience.

Properties in Action

Grid

  • Grids are the layouts available for the photos you choose.

There are 3 grid types that we have available:

The standard setting is the ‘Flex Grid’ as this takes a lot of the guesswork out of formatting and ensures that all of the pictures that are added within the grid are formatted and cropped properly.

The grids automatically shown are the more popular grid templates

Though we have grid templates that go up to 10 cells within the slide

Gutter and Full Bleed

  • Gutter refers to whether there is spacing between the grids or not. Full bleed is essentially the ‘fit to page’ option within the cell which can be toggled on and off like Gutter.

Cell Color and Border

cellcolorandborder.png
  • Cell color is the color that can be used to fill the photo grid cell. As with all color options, the ones available will be the ones associated with the chosen theme.

  • Border is the color that you can select for only the border or frame of the photo. You’ll notice that shaded/colorful are not options but you do have the option to ‘Show Shadow' which will create a drop shadow affect on the photos. By default ‘None’ is selected for both Cell Color and Border.

Adding A Photo

  • Clicking on the camera icon will bring you to our stock photo library though you can upload your own image or generate one with AI. Once you add your photo, the cell will then populate its own properties panel so that you can customize the photo further. If you click away from the Cell Properties, you will see that you’re taken back to the general image properties where you can change the grid style and/or the grid layout type.

Cell Properties

After you’ve added your photo, a separate property panel will appear for that specific image’s cell

Color

  • This will allow you to change the background color of the cell so long as there is ‘background’ that will be showing. Typically, the photo is set to fill the space, so you will see a pop-up like this if you try to add a color for the photo background. To make the background color available, you can click ‘Edit’ and then you can size the photo down so that there is background to fill.

Title

  • This allows you to add a Title to the image itself. Depending on what you choose, the placement within the cell will differ. Also, as shown, adding a Title will adjust the image accordingly:

Image

  • The Image section allows you to make any changes you’d like to the image itself. Clicking on the camera icon will re-open the stock images page and will allow you to choose a different image.

  • Clicking on the crop icon will open some editing options for the photo. This includes the ability to size the photo up or down, the option to set the image to fill the cell, an image editor where you can adjust things like brightness and contrast and/or add a filter, adding alt text, and either deleting or replacing the image itself.

  • Clicking on the trash icon will remove the image.

Animation Effect

  • This option puts an animation on the image itself! There are a few options available and the default is set to ‘None’

Show Attribution

  • This will cite the source/creator of the image itself when toggled on

Add Text to Cell

  • Add Text to Cell allows you to add a text box layer over the image itself. There are a lot of options available for the type of text i.e. something like a quote or a stat. You can then customize the text by resizing the text box, changing the position of the text within the text box, as well as changing the text color and/or the backdrop!

Add Frame to Cell

  • This option enables you to change the frame around the image within the photo cell. The frame will be made to fit within the grid and cell that has been chosen. From within this ability, you can size the image up or down and/or change the frame color. All of our Shape Frames and Device Frames are available.

Use Cases:

  • when a visual story is better than text

  • to add a lil pizzaz to a presentation

  • when you have personal photos you’d like to use i.e. new employee headshots

  • helps to create a visual break in your presentation
  • easily display a quote or phrase with a background image
  • Images help to support the main message on a slide
