New Updates to our Editor -- October 2025

Earlier this year, we introduced the Properties Panel to bring our most powerful features forward, streamlining your workflow and elevating your presentations. This update is the next evolution of that work. We’ve surfaced your favorite tools in more familiar places: a new slide navigator on the left, the Properties Panel now on the right, and control bars beneath the slide for quick, in-context edits. Nothing in your existing presentations changes; you’ll simply get fewer clicks, faster orientation, and more discoverable controls.

What’s changing (at a glance)

  • Slide Navigation: See your story at a glance, drag to reorder, stay oriented as you build.

  • Properties Panel: Same brains, new address. Click any tab to open the right-side panel—everything you know, right at hand.

  • Control bars: Quick, in-context controls that mirror the Edit Properties. Want more canvas? Keep the panel closed and use the control bar—more focus, fewer panels.

  • Top bar polish: Your go-tos are surfaced and simplified—Home is clearer, Theme is more prominent, presentation-level actions live in one dropdown, Analytics is easier to find, and the top-right icons (Share, Present, etc.) are aligned.

  • Dark/Light mode: Match your vibe—sunny brainstorm or midnight sprint.

  • Utility re-org: Undo/Redo now bottom-left. Speaker Notes, Comment, and Assign sit bottom-right.

What stays the same

  • Your presentations, content, and branding remain intact.

  • Smart Slides still do the heavy lifting—auto-design and structure are unchanged.

  • The controls you know—now with clearer entry points.

What’s new (in detail)

Improved slide navigation — NEW

See your whole story while you edit. Keep your current slide front and center while skimming thumbnails on the left—browse, add, delete, and drag-to-reorder without ever leaving the editor. Collapse or resize the navigator any time. And when you need the big picture, Grid View is still right there.

What you can do

  • Browse: Scroll through every slide while staying on the one you’re editing.

  • Reorder: Drag and drop to reorganize your deck on the fly.

  • Add/Delete: Insert new slides or remove extras without breaking flow.

  • Resize/Collapse: Make the strip wider, slimmer, or hide it altogether.

TIP: Press Space to toggle quickly. Prefer a cleaner canvas? Collapse it for more slide space, less side space.

Revamped Properties Panel — UPDATED

Same tools, new home on the right. Click any tab to open a closable panel with clearer, easier-to-scan sections. We’ve also split Color into its own tab so you can change slide background colors fast—no digging through edit settings.

What you can do

  • Find faster: Tabs group the tools you use most, so you spend less time hunting.

  • Edit in context: Adjust text, layout, and design settings without leaving your slide.

  • Quick color swaps: Use the dedicated Colors tab to change colors in a click.

  • Reclaim space: Close the panel anytime and rely on the Control Bar for essentials.

TIP: Click a tab to open/close the panel. Prefer a cleaner canvas? Close it for more view, less UI.  In a hurry? Use the Control Bar under the slide for quick edits.

Edit Control Bar — NEW

Working on a small screen or just want fewer panel switches? Meet the Control Bar. It sits directly under the slide and surfaces the most important, context-aware controls for whatever you’ve selected—so you can edit faster without breaking flow. We’ve made each Smart Slide’s core actions and settings obvious at a glance and what used to be easy to miss is now front and center.

What you can do

  • Make quick edits: Make edit adjustments (timeline styles, icons, size of objects, etc) right under the slide.

  • See what’s possible: Controls adapt per Smart Slide, making unique actions obvious at a glance.

  • Stay in flow: Skip panel toggles for simple tweaks; minimize context switching on small screens.

  • Go deeper on demand: Jump to the full Properties Panel in one click when you need advanced controls.

TIP:  Keep your eyes on the slide; close the panel and work from the Control Bar; open the full Properties Panel only when you need deeper options.

Cleaner layout — NEW

We streamlined the Editor so the essentials are front and center and visual noise is out of the way. On first open, you’ll see clear, top-line controls—Home, Presentation Menu, Theme, Analytics, Present, Share—so you can get oriented fast and stay focused on the slide.

What you can do

  • Home: Jump back to your Library when you’re done editing.

  • Presentation Menu: Find all deck-level actions in one place (manage settings and key presentation actions from a single dropdown).

  • Theme: Quickly adjust your look and feel to stay on brand.

  • Analytics: Open performance insights when you need them.

  • Present: Launch your deck into full-screen presentation.

  • Share: Invite collaborators or grab a link in a click.

TIP: Global actions live in the top bar; contextual edits live in the Properties Panel, Slide Navigator, and Control Bar. Less hunting, more doing.

Dark/Light Mode — NEW

A small switch with a big quality-of-life boost. Tap the mode button at the top to flip the entire editor between light and dark instantly. It remembers your preference, so you’ll come back to the same vibe next time—and you can change it back just as quickly.

What you can do

  • Toggle instantly: One click in the top bar flips the whole workspace.

  • Reduce strain: Match your environment to stay comfortable and focused.

  • Stick with your vibe: Your last choice is remembered; change it whenever.

TIP: Presenting in a bright room? Go light. Late-night polish session? Go dark. Switch anytime.

Utility Re-org — UPDATED

We tidied up the essentials so they’re easier to hit in the flow. Undo/Redo now live bottom-left for quick recoveries, while Speaker Notes, Comment, and Assign sit bottom-right with your collaboration and presenter tools. Same capabilities—just grouped where they make the most sense for faster, clearer work.

What you can do

  • Undo/Redo (bottom-left): Safely try ideas, then step back or forward in a click.

  • Speaker Notes (bottom-right): Jot talking points without leaving the slide.

  • Comment (bottom-right): Leave feedback right where it’s needed; keep discussions in context.

  • Assign (bottom-right): Turn feedback into ownership by assigning follow-ups on the spot.

TIP: Shortcuts still work (Cmd/Ctrl + Z to undo; Shift + Cmd/Ctrl + Z to redo). Less hunting, more doing.

FAQ

Will this change break my existing decks?
No. All content remains intact; this update improves how you access and discover controls.

Where did the Properties Panel go?
It’s now on the right. Click any of the tabs on the right to open it—same controls, new location, and you can close it for more canvas space.

Do the control bars replace Properties?
They mirror key actions from Properties and live under the slide for speed. Use whichever is faster for your workflow.

Where are options/more settings?
Look for the gear icon now called "Manage" on the right side of the editor.

  • These editor updates are awesome particularly the improved navigation and the cleaner layout. I’m working on a UI/UX issue on my own site (nav menu expands on hard refresh, then collapses after full load). If anyone has tips for handling that state/animation smoothly, I’d appreciate it https://senpaistreamapkdl.com/

  • The recent update to the editor has been tried by me, and I have to say that the slide navigator on the left is great for getting a comprehensive view of the presentation. The control bars at the bottom of the slide have turned out to be very useful as they help in speedy adjustments without any hassle. Traffic Rider

  • These updates look really clean, especially the UI improvements and the dark/light mode toggle — makes the workflow feel a lot smoother. I like how everything is more organized now, less time searching for controls.

Sometimes, when working with slides, the image quality also matters a lot for the final output. I’ve tried improving images beforehand using https://reminniapk.com/ and it actually helps make presentations look a bit more polished overall.

  • Really interesting to see how these October 2025 editor updates focus not just on new features but on improving overall workflow and usability—it feels like a step toward making content creation smoother and less time-consuming, especially with the refinements to formatting and performance. I like how the changes seem to prioritize both beginners and experienced users, which is something many platforms struggle to balance. It kind of reminds me of how menus evolve too—like Hardee’s Breakfast Menu, where small tweaks and additions can completely improve the experience without changing what people already love. Do you think these updates will actually change how frequently you use the editor or the way you create content?
